Security and Safety at Chennault

Local Law Enforcement Takes Safety Tour

Security and safety are more than just priorities at Chennault International Airport—they are core directives that support every tenant, operation, and visitor on the airfield. This commitment was recently underscored during a tour hosted by Chennault leadership for several of Southwest Louisiana’s top law enforcement officials.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Stitch Guillory, Ward 3 Marshal Nathan Keller, and Lake Charles Police Chief Shawn Caldwell joined Chennault Executive Director Kevin Melton and Facilities and Maintenance Director John McMullen for an on-site briefing and tour of critical facilities across the airport’s expansive campus. One of the key stops included Citadel Completions, where high-end, large-cabin aircraft are modified and personalized for VIP clients from around the world.

The tour highlighted Chennault’s 24/7 patrol force, comprehensive video surveillance systems, and secure perimeters. These elements are not just routine—they are tailored to support the sensitive, high-stakes work happening every day across the site, from aerospace manufacturing to aircraft completions and logistics. The presence of local law enforcement leadership on-site emphasized how closely Chennault collaborates with regional public safety partners to maintain a secure and resilient environment.
