Chennault Welcomes Louisiana National Guard’s New Readiness Center
Chennault International Airport is on the forefront of infrastructure development, aiming to foster regional and state growth while creating new job opportunities. As part of this ongoing commitment, the airport has embarked on a series of projects worth over $20 million, with $5 million earmarked for immediate work. Among these significant advancements, we are thrilled to announce the completion of a state-of-the-art facility for the Louisiana National Guard, marking a new era in military training and community collaboration.
A Modern Facility for Military Readiness
This modern readiness center, which recently held its ribbon-cutting ceremony, was constructed following the devastating impact of Hurricane Laura on the Guard’s previous armory. With a total investment of $32 million, the facility is set to enhance training for multiple military units and serve as a valuable resource for the community. The new complex includes a spacious 38,000-square-foot readiness center and a 12,000-square-foot maintenance training facility, offering a variety of resources for the soldiers stationed here.
The facility features a general-purpose training bay, detached unheated storage areas, and ample parking for both personal vehicles and military vehicles and trailers. This new center not only underscores Chennault’s role in supporting military efforts but also highlights the economic potential this collaboration brings to Southwest Louisiana.
As reported by the American Press, this facility stands as a testament to the commitment of both the Louisiana National Guard and Chennault International Airport to enhancing community support and military readiness. With the completion of this center, we look forward to the myriad ways it will serve our military personnel and local residents alike.
Looking Ahead at Chennault
Chennault International Airport remains dedicated to its mission of promoting growth and opportunity through infrastructure advancements, and the opening of the Louisiana National Guard’s readiness center is a significant milestone in this journey. We congratulate the Louisiana National Guard on this important achievement and are eager to see the positive impacts it will have on the community and our brave service members.
